Why are warm drinks better?

The temperature of your drink has a huge impact on your performance. This can be especially important during strenuous workouts or when outside temperatures are high.

When heat is supplied to the body from within, this triggers the best cooling mechanism we have: sweating! However, not in a torrential manner like with cold drinks, but rather evenly and at a low level. Comparable to a really well-adjusted air conditioning system. As a positive side effect, the blood vessels dilate and the body can absorb the fluid even more efficiently. Cold drinks, on the other hand, bring thermoregulation into a complete imbalance. The body first has to warm the fluid before it can enter the bloodstream. As a result, the blood vessels contract and nutrient transport is restricted. Your body is therefore subjected to unnecessary strain. You then sweat even more, lose some of the fluid you previously consumed and your performance decreases. This drinking habit appears to be particularly ineffective when combined with physical or mental activity, which requires you to perform at your full potential.
